About

Welcome to Nomadists, where movement meets meaning.

We believe that nomadism is more than just changing locations—it's a philosophy that liberates us from geographic constraints to discover life's true adventures.

The modern nomad isn't defined by constant travel, but by the freedom to choose where and how they live without conventional limitations. Whether in a Sprinter van crossing state lines or creating from a home base between adventures, nomadism is about the mindset that prioritizes authenticity over convention.

Our journey began in 2007 when Indy and Kitty met and discovered a shared vision for living beyond traditional boundaries. Everything changed in 2016 when we took a leap of faith, moving our family from Texas to Arizona—a decision that fundamentally shifted how we viewed location, possessions, and purpose. By 2019, we fully embraced the overlanding lifestyle, converting our Sprinter van into a mobile sanctuary for our family of nine.

Through The Fieldletter, our podcast, and our growing community, we explore how movement—both physical and mental—creates space for what matters most: authentic experiences, meaningful connections, and continuous self-discovery. We've learned that true freedom comes not from external validation but from the courage to examine your own path and consciously design a life aligned with your deepest values.

Nomadists exists to guide fellow travelers on their journey to location independence and purposeful living. We share honest conversations and practical insights for those looking to break free from conventional boundaries and create a life designed around exploration, connection, and growth.

Join us as we continue to discover what it means to truly live a nomadic life—not just where we go, but who we become along the way.
